Welcome to Maiden Newton at War 2010 |
Maiden Newton at War 2010 has been a great success. The premier re-enactor event in Dorset just gets better and better, and it's not only the committee that think so. We have been overwhelmed with the sheer number of compliments and congratulations on a great event. We are very conscious of the fact that this is due to many factors, including the weather which was very kind to us in 2010. Many people have commented on the atmosphere and how good it was. This is due to the people that attended and the way that they embraced our event. We must thank the re-enactors for putting on such a great show on the battle field and their static displays. The museum this year was absolutely terrific and the entertainers outstanding. We were all delighted with the number of visitors that dressed in 1940s fashion to attend Maiden Newton at War and the residents of Maiden Newton and Frome Vauchurch for dressing their houses with bunting, flags and taped up windows. The committee would also like to thank all of our volunteers that turned out to marshal the event, we couldn't do it without you. Thank you all very much.
