Anti-tank defences can still be found along, what used to be the Dorchester to Bridport train line which can still be accessed from Maiden Newton Station.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Maiden Newton station was used to transport stores and equipment to the QuarterMaster's stores (which were located in Stanstead Rd).
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Nissen huts can still be found in Chilfrome Lane.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
St Mary's Church was used as a community air raid shelter during WWII.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  Remnants of ammunitions store (built to contain mortars), and the base of a spigot mortar, can be found across the river behind House's Bakery.
 
 
  
 
It is claimed that a vital lookout post was located at the Chalk Pit at Frome Vauchurch, but alas evidence cannot be found to confirm this.
