Maiden Newton at War are very please to be able to offer the following painting for sale by 'Silent Auction'

An original oil painting on canvas and fully framed. Signed by the Artist. Size; 23 ½” x 19 ½” approx with frame.
The subject of the painting is a 72 Squadron Spitfire MK II based at Biggin Hill During the Battle of Britain. This has been painted especially for the Maiden Newton At War event 21st, 22nd June 2008. The Artist, Ken Summers, lives locally near Maiden Newton, Dorset and is retired. He painted this in 2007 on request from the Maiden Newton At War committee and has very kindly donated it to them to sell. He has painted numerous pictures of aircraft and his work hangs in the national RAF museum Duxford and at various museums in the UK and USA.
Initially the committee considered putting the painting into the grand draw for the event but having seen the quality and detail feel that it should only go to a recipient that will appreciate the subject and work involved. Therefore it is being offered for sale by 'Silent Auction'.
